Trust & Safety

Safety is our highest priority

Every Drift trip is backed by a framework designed to protect riders, drivers, and the communities we operate in.

01Our five safety principles

  • Safety First: safety takes priority over speed, convenience, or profitability.
  • Respect for Everyone: every community member deserves respect regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, disability, or background.
  • Accountability: drivers, riders, and platform administrators are responsible for their actions while using Drift.
  • Transparency: we communicate clearly about incidents, investigations, policy changes, and user rights.
  • Continuous Improvement: safety policies are reviewed regularly based on platform data, incident reports, and community feedback.

02How we protect riders

  • Driver identity verification including NIDA and LATRA licence checks.
  • Vehicle roadworthiness and registration verification.
  • Real-time GPS tracking during trips.
  • In-app emergency reporting.
  • 24/7 critical incident escalation.
  • Emergency contact notifications.

03Incident response

The more serious the incident, the faster we act. Reports are triaged into three levels:

Level 1: Minor

Route disputes, service complaints, and minor disagreements. Response within 24 hours.

Level 2: Significant

Harassment complaints, property damage, and repeated policy violations. Response within 12 hours.

Level 3: Critical

Serious accidents, physical violence, sexual misconduct, and criminal activity. Immediate escalation, 24/7.

04Community standards

The following conduct is prohibited on the Drift platform under a zero-tolerance policy:

  • Physical violence
  • Sexual misconduct
  • Harassment
  • Hate speech
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Fraud
  • Identity misrepresentation
  • Criminal activity
  • Property damage

Violations result in warnings, temporary suspension, permanent account removal, or referral to authorities. These standards are part of our Terms of Service.

05Child safety

  • Drift maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward child exploitation, abuse, or endangerment.
  • Drivers may refuse trips where they reasonably believe transporting an unaccompanied minor would violate applicable law or platform policy.
  • Reports involving children or vulnerable persons are treated as the highest priority and escalated immediately to the Trust & Safety team.
  • Confirmed violations result in immediate permanent deactivation and referral to relevant authorities.

06How to report an incident

  • In-app reporting: tap Safety in the app menu.
