Motorcycles used for single-rider hire. Common for short trips and high-traffic urban routes.
- Valid Class A motorcycle driving licence
- LATRA bodaboda private-hire authorisation
- Helmet for rider and passenger
- Third-party / passenger insurance
Bajaj (Auto-rickshaw / Tuk-tuk)
Three-wheeled motorised vehicles for short to medium urban trips. Popular for affordability and accessibility.
- Valid licence for the vehicle class
- LATRA private-hire authorisation
- Roadworthiness certificate
- Passenger insurance
- App-based fare calculation
Car (Private Hire Vehicle)
Four-wheeled saloon, hatchback, SUV, or similar passenger vehicle. Used for standard, premium, and longer-distance rides.
- Valid motor vehicle driving licence
- LATRA private-hire vehicle licence
- Comprehensive or third-party insurance as required
- Vehicle within the LATRA permitted age limit
02General requirements (all categories)
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid NIDA national identification number.
- Vehicle must be roadworthy and legally registered.
- Valid motor insurance as required by Tanzanian law.
- Vehicle must be clean and safe for passenger transport.
- Functioning seat belts and required safety equipment where applicable.
- Vehicle connected to the Drift system and matched to the licensed operator.
- LATRA licence or permit displayed in a conspicuous position on the vehicle.

04Earnings models
Two flexible models, both compliant with LATRA regulations.
Commission Model
- Drift deducts a platform service commission from each completed trip.
- You keep the remaining earnings after deductions.
- No upfront cost to get started.
- Commission rates set in compliance with LATRA regulations.
Subscription Model
- Pay a recurring platform access fee (daily, weekly, or monthly).
- Keep your full trip earnings subject to applicable regulatory fees and deductions.
- Flexibility to choose the billing cycle that suits you.
- Where a subscription lapses, you automatically move to the Commission Model.
