Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Drift mobile application and services (“Drift”), provided by Akcessible Technologies Limited (“Akcessible”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Drift, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Drift.

Drift is a technology platform that connects riders with independent, licensed transport operators (“drivers”). We are not a transport carrier and we do not provide transport services ourselves. Drivers are independent service providers who are solely responsible for the transport they provide. The contract for the journey is between the rider and the driver; Drift facilitates the connection, booking, and payment.

You must be at least 18 years old to hold a rider account and meet the driver eligibility requirements (including age, valid licence, and LATRA authorisation) to hold a driver account. You must provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and not share or transfer your account. You are responsible for activity on your account. Fares are calculated using distance and time components and any applicable fees, in line with the fare framework set by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA). Where electronic payment is enabled, payment is processed through licensed payment providers. Drift charges drivers a service commission within the maximum permitted by LATRA. Receipts/electronic tickets are issued through the app as required.

You may cancel a booking in the app. Cancellation fees may apply where a driver has already been dispatched, as disclosed at the time. Where a pre-paid service is not provided, refunds are handled in line with applicable LATRA requirements, including refunding within the period required by law.

You agree to treat others with respect, follow the law, and comply with the Drift community standards. Prohibited conduct includes violence, harassment, hate speech, discrimination, fraud, identity misrepresentation, property damage, and any illegal activity during trips. Drivers must additionally maintain valid licensing, vehicle registration, and the insurance required by law, and must keep their vehicle roadworthy and safe.

Drift provides in-app tools to report safety concerns and incidents. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first. We operate a Trust & Safety process to review reports and may take enforcement action. We may cooperate with law enforcement in accordance with the law and our Privacy Policy.

Drift is a technology provider, not an insurer or carrier. We do not provide motor insurance for trips. Each driver is responsible for maintaining the insurance required by Tanzanian law for the service they provide.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akcessible is not liable for the acts, omissions, conduct, or vehicles of drivers or riders, or for loss or damage arising from a trip itself. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Tanzanian law. Our total liability to you for matters within our control is limited to the extent permitted by law.

We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, fraud, or risk to safety. You may stop using Drift and delete your account at any time. Some data may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy and as required by law.

If you lose an item, you can submit a lost-item report in the app. We may help connect riders and drivers to arrange return, but we do not guarantee recovery of lost items.

The Drift app, brand, and content are owned by Akcessible or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app.

We may update Drift and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Tanzanian courts, without prejudice to any complaint or dispute-resolution route available through LATRA or the PDPC.
